About Us
WAMM exists to support women musicians at all ages and stages of their creativity. Whether they are professionals or enjoy music as a hobby, women deserve supportive and inclusive spaces to fulfill their connection to music
WOMEN ARE MAKING MUSIC
WAMM (Women Are Making Music) originated in the Capital Region of New York state, serving women musicians from Albany, Troy, Schenectady, Saratoga, Glens Falls, Western Vermont, and Western Massachusetts. We collaborate with other women’s music groups and hope to expand our reach, regionally, nationally, and globally. We offer networking, workshops, and jam sessions tailored for women and femme-identifying musicians. WAMM also produces women-led events and showcases for everyone to enjoy. WAMM embraces radical inclusiveness and supports the LGBTQA+ community and femme-identifying women. We seek to learn from each other as we grow individually and as a group. WAMM appreciates the support of men and masculine-identifying individuals in advancing the cause of equality and opportunity for women in music.
Our Values
We set the expectation that women deserve to be treated with support, dignity, and respect in the music industry.

Community
WAMM exists to connect women in music with an intentional community, creating a collaborative and supportive environment in which to learn and perform music. We seek to bring women together from different backgrounds and styles to collaborate. We support women-led performances throughout the New York Capital Region.

Networking
In-person events and workshops provide opportunities for women to share information and work on projects together. Where are our favorite venues? How do we find musicians for our next album? What are your favorite practice techniques? What recording studios get the sound you’re looking for? These questions and more are explored when we meet up.
